Miraitowa and Someity visited Tone Choritsu Monma Elementary School!

The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Mascots Miraitowa and Someity, together with the former Japan national football player, Koji Nakata, visited Tone Choritsu Monma Elementary School as the first 2020th school that was selected in the “2020 Awards”.
The “2020 Award” operated by the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, selected every 2020th school that participated in the Mascot voting as the “2020 Award” recipients. The Mascots, together with athletes, will visit those elementary schools that were selected as the “2020 Award” recipients.

School children were very excited and delightful to see Miraitowa and Someity and Koji Nakata at the school assembly, and then, made every effort to participate in the quiz session.

After that, Koji Nakada gave a tutorial of basic skills in football including lifting, dribbling and passing to 5th grade and 6th grade students.
The school children felt very elated and jubilant by watching Koji Nakata’s football demonstration. They were so obsessed with dribbling practicing, and enjoyed avidly.

In addition, during the Q&A session, school children asked questions to Koji Nakata. In response to the question “What was Mr. Nakata’s dream in 5th or 6th grade?”, the school children were very serious and listened very carefully to Mr. Nakata’s answer “My dream is to become a teacher and I worked very hard in both school works and sports training. I believe having a dream can let you grow into a better person, so, please keep your dream alive and work hard for it.”

Lastly, everyone took the photo together.
Mr. Nakata, Miraitowa and Someity, thank you for coming!
